Admission Policy Minimize

Children eligible to enroll at Montessori Children's Garden must be at least 3 years of age and toilet trained to enroll in the pre-school program. Children may enter the pre-school program at anytime throughout the year. Students may participate in the pre-school program until they are eligible for the Kindergarten program. Montessori Children's Garden will also provide a Summer Program, that provides the children with added projects and events in a more relaxed atmosphere. The Summer Program begins approximately the first of June of each calendar year. Summer program is available for preschool, kindergarten and elementary age children.

Age requirements for Montessori Children's Garden`s Kindergarten and Elementary programs follow strictly with District 204, Indian Prairie School District age guidelines for their Kindergarten and Elementary programs. Observance of this policy will allow any child enrolled in the Kindergarten program to be eligible for entry into 1st grade after completing the program. Children attending the Kindergarten and Elementary programs must be enrolled five (5) days per week.

Montessori Children's Garden will accept any child within its capacity provided its facilities and staff are adequate to meet the child`s needs and provided that the admission of the child does not adversely affect the care given other students.

Enrollment Procedures Minimize

1.      Initial Parent Inquiry

  • Parents provided with general information about the program
  • School brochure provided to parents
  • Meeting scheduled between parents, and appropriate representatives of the school

2.      Parent/School Meeting (1st Visit)

  • Tour of facility
  • Description of program and introduction to staff
  • Question and answer session with parent and director/head teacher

3.      Student Visit/Parent Observation (2nd Visit)

  • Short observation (20 minutes) with other students and teacher. Allows parents and teachers opportunity to observe classroom and child.
  • Parent Handbook provided to parents

4.      Acceptance and Enrollment Contract

  • Additional forms completed for admission. In addition to the application for enrollment and review of parent handbook, medical release and health forms* must be completed prior to admission. Registration fee and deposit due at time of application.
  • Notice of acceptance provided to parents. Notice of placement on waiting list if school is currently at capacity.

5.      Re-Enrollment Procedures

  • Re-enrollment procedures will be required on an annual basis. Completion and updating of new forms and information will occur at this time.

*If child is not immunized based on religious grounds a letter stating the exemption must be provided in lieu of the immunization form prior to admission.
