Hours Of Operation Minimize

Montessori Children's Garden is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00p.m., Monday through Friday, year round. Daily hot lunch is included.

Daily Program Minimize

DESCRIPTION OF DAILY PROGRAM (3-6 classroom)

7:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m. Drop off time, breakfast club for children arriving prior to 8:00 a.m., free play, story reading, conversation with friends.

8:30 a.m. Core pre-school and kindergarten programs begin.

9:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. Combined group time on the LINE. Simple foreign language instruction. Gross motor movement, music and singing on the line.

9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Individual and small group work activities in core educational areas including mathematics, sensorial, language, geography, biology, practical life and creative work. Snack available as individual choice throughout the entire morning.      

  • Large muscle activities which include indoor and outdoor (as weather permits).

11:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Preparation for lunch. Wash hands and face, use bathroom facilities, help with setting tables. Storytime.

12:00 p.m.- 12:30 p.m. Lunch and clean up.

12:30 p.m. Half day student dismissal 

1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. Naptime

3:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. Afternoon storytime. Snack available as individual choice throughout the afternoon. Large muscle activities which include indoor and outdoor (as weather permits).

4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Work of child`s choice until parent pick-up.

8:15 a.m. School starts. Gross motor exercises outside (if weather permitting.)

8:30 a.m.- 9:00 a.m. Gross motor exercises outside (if weather permitting.)

9:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. Combined group time on the LINE. Daily oral language activities. Weather discussions. Math and language presentations.

9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Individual and small group work activities in core educational areas including mathematics, language, geography, biology, science, and creative work. Concentration on individual work plans. Snack available as individual choice throughout the entire morning.

11:30 a.m.- 11:45 a.m. Clean up and preparation for lunch. Wash hands and face, use bathroom facilities, help with setting tables.

12:00 p.m.- 12:45 p.m. Lunch and clean up.

12:45 p.m. Silent reading time

1:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. Geography and science presentations.

2:30 p.m.- 3:45 p.m. Music, physical education, gymnastics, computer and foreign language schedule throught the week.

A morning and afternoon snack are provided, in addition to lunch on a daily basis. Menus for lunch are posted and are designed to provide your child with a regular balanced meal. If a child arrives prior to 8:00am they may bring their breakfast and eat on premises with the assistance of a staff member. Children are encouraged but not required to eat their food.
