Teaching Our Children
An awareness of others goes beyond the walls of our individual classrooms and even beyond the boundaries of Montessori Children's Garden. Through engagement in the community, we teach our children that it is the individuals that form the whole of the community. Our children learn that by helping others, we all become stronger as individuals. We enjoy donating our time energies to these events that help make us more than just another school, they make us the MCG family.
Hesed House - Food Drive
Each year when our families are getting ready to visit relatives or host their own holiday meals, our MCG families are also gathering food for Aurora's own Hesed House.
Our halls fill with bags of groceries and other needed items that those less fortunate can benefit from. It's wonderful to observe our families being thankful by celebrating with their own children but also by giving to their neighbors in our community.
This MCG event is especially close to our hearts. Santa’s Breakfast is held each year in honor of our former student, Patrick Nolan, to keep his memory alive. Nothing would make him happier than to share pancakes with friends!
As we enjoy each other, we also celebrate Patrick's life, and join together in the fight to end pediatric liver cancer. Proceeds from Santa's breakfast, along with a portion from boutique sales, are donated to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.
Parent's Night Out
While every parent could use a night out once in awhile, MCG parents get TWO nights out every year. Parent's Night Out proceeds support the American Heart Association and Relay for Life.
During Parent's Night Out, students come and enjoy games and activities at school OR enjoy a fun night at our partner in supporting these charities, Airtastic. Parents get a night to go to dinner, shop or maybe just take a nap! No matter what, it's a great night for our MCG families.
