The education of even a small child, therefore, does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life."      Maria Montessori

Give your child the gift of independence in a nurturing environment - Toddler Program

Half-day: 3, 4 or 5 days per week (8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.)

(Extended hours between 7am and 6pm available)

There is important work that takes place in the MCG toddler community. The focus on autonomy and toilet learning give way to self-confidence and independence as the child successfully masters self-care. At the same time, language acquisition blossoms and the doors to communicating needs, desires and wishes open wide. The fabric of the classroom at this stage is sensory-motor activities and materials that develop cognitive powers through direct, concrete experiences: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching and movement.

Watch them grow as they become part of a community of engaged learners and budding leaders - Early Childhood Program

The young child’s development continues in the early childhood environment. The teachers in the 3-6 classrooms carefully observe each child and follow their lead, offering support and guidance when needed. The continued exploration of multi-sensory materials and activities not only provide the foundation to reading, writing and mathematical concepts, but also aid the child in mastering movements, behavior, sensory perceptions and his or her place in the classroom community. In the multiage classroom, children bond as a group, forming a community that focuses on responsibility, leadership and a sense of others.

They thrive in a consistent environment throughout the day - Extended Day Programs

Montessori Children’s Garden proudly offers our families a superior educational environment beyond traditional school hours. For families that need extended options, we welcome children from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Our students benefit from a consistent environment with familiar teachers, while their parents have peace of mind that their children are receiving an educational alternative to the typical daycare experience.

Continued learning in a fun environment - Summer Program

To maintain the academic progress children achieve throughout the school year, Montessori Children's Garden provides a summer program for both half and full-time students. Families enroll their student in a minimum of four weeks of our summer program, which offers camps and classes on everything from swimming lessons to in depth science studies and exploration. Alumni students may participate (based on availability). Visit our Special Programs page to learn more.

Elementary Program

(1st through 3rd grade): 5 days per week*

Our multiage elementary program is designed to meet the needs of the individual student. Assignments include individual work along with group activities. At this age, students demonstrate a strong desire to form connections with other students. The community environment in the classroom allows for opportunities to strengthen individual relationships and develop skills for successfully working through conflict situations. Mentoring opportunities occur naturally in the environment and allow each child to reach their potential both academically and socially.
